Addressing a regular press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday, Pham Thu Hang, spokesperson for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that military delegations from Laos, Cambodia, and China will participate in the parade celebrating the historic April 30, 1975 reunification.
She emphasized the significance of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification, calling it an event of profound meaning not only for the Vietnamese people but also for international friends who stood with Vietnam during its struggle for independence.
"We welcome the participation of military delegations from Laos, Cambodia, and China in the parade, which reflects the increasingly strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and these countries," the spokesperson affirmed.
Vietnam has also received confirmation of attendance from numerous high-level delegations, political parties, international organizations, peace movements, and anti-war groups worldwide.
Hang highlighted that the victory of April 30, 1975 marked a triumph of justice and human conscience, bringing an end to immense suffering not only for Vietnamese families but also for many American families.
She added that the occasion is also an opportunity to honor values of forgiveness, peace, reconciliation and healing, and the spirit of moving beyond the past toward the future.
