Screenshots from a clip show Eidan Sanker during a giveaway scene that prompted allegations of staged content in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Eidan Sanker, known as @master.sanker on Instagram, has become the center of controversy after a clip surfaced online.

In the viral footage, Sanker, dressed in his signature yellow outfit, is seen handing an iPhone to a young woman in the pedestrian area near the lake.

However, just seconds later, the woman appears to pass the phone to another man, believed to be a member of the production crew, before receiving a sheet of paper suspected to be cash.

The detail led many people to question whether the 'giving iPhones to strangers' videos that helped make Master Sanker famous were actually staged content.

Sanker rose to fame through videos featuring cash giveaways, iPhone gifts, and surprise street interactions.

In addition to having a massive following on Instagram, he also has over 13 million followers on TikTok and around nine million subscribers on YouTube.

Many Vietnamese Internet users said they felt disappointed, believing they had been “emotionally misled.”

However, others said staged elements in giveaway videos are not particularly surprising in the age of TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

Later in a Q&A session on Instagram, a viewer asked Sanker “fake or real?”

In response, Sanker said that most of his giveaway activities are genuine. However, he also admitted that “some videos are scripted.”

He also stressed that “most of the kindness and help shown in the videos is real.”

The content creator did not mention the incident in which he was allegedly caught staging content in Hanoi.
