3,000 women in ‘ao dai’ gather along Nha Trang beach

About 3,000 women wearing ‘ao dai’ gathered along Nha Trang Beach in Khanh Hoa Province on Sunday to celebrate International Women’s Day, creating a colorful display of Vietnam’s traditional long gown by the sea.

About 3,000 women from government agencies, organizations, and local communities across Khanh Hoa took part in the event, organized by the Khanh Hoa Women’s Union to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8).

Many participants wore traditional ao dai decorated with floral patterns, highlighting the elegance and grace of Vietnam’s traditional dress.

The parade began at April 2 Square and moved along Tran Phu, a well-known coastal boulevard in Nha Trang.

Thousands of women in colorful ao dai walked along the seaside, creating a vibrant scene against the backdrop of blue skies and the ocean.

Nguyen Thanh Ha, vice-chairman of the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee and head of the provincial committee for the advancement of women, extended his congratulations to women across the province on International Women’s Day.

He said the province would continue to support and create favorable conditions for women to develop their potential and contribute to local development.

“With unity, dynamism, and creativity, women in Khanh Hoa will continue to affirm their role and position in families and society, contributing to a prosperous, civilized, and sustainable province,” Ha said.

Tran Thi Anh Dao, a teacher at Vinh Trung Kindergarten in Tay Nha Trang Ward, said taking part in the parade helped her feel the strong sense of connection among female participants.

“Walking along Nha Trang Beach with thousands of women wearing ao dai made me feel very proud,” Dao said. 

"The event not only celebrates International Women’s Day but also helps people appreciate and cherish Vietnam’s traditional long gown.”
