The final steps of construction have begun for a road connecting Nguyen Van Cu Street with Ngoc Thuy Dyke in Long Bien District, Hanoi, ensuring it is on track to be ready for drivers on the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10).

The road project carried a price tag of VND1.2 trillion (US$50 million), featuring six lanes and a 211-meter overpass.

Work on the project started in December 2018, but obstacles over site clearance delayed its progress, said an official of the Long Bien People’s Committee.

Workers are focusing on pouring asphalt on the final section of the road next to Ngoc Thuy Market.

The project has affected 485 households and organizations.

When completed, the road will create a smooth route linking Dong Tru Bridge and Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway, running through Thuong Thanh, Ngoc Thuy, Ngoc Lam, Bo De, Long Bien, and Thach Ban Wards.
