Originally published on July 25, 1974 as standalone tankobon volumes, Doraemon quickly became the flagship title of Shogakukan's Tentomushi Comics.
Over the decades, it has grown into a beloved cultural symbol for millions of readers around the world, including in Vietnam.
Kim Dong said the commemorative collection, first launched in Japan, is now available to Vietnamese readers.
The edition includes six complete volumes with full-color pages, a metallic silver slipcase, and foil-stamped cover art.
It also comes with exclusive extras such as postcards, bilingual inserts, and reproductions of early school magazine prints.
Fans have responded enthusiastically to the new release, drawn by its eye-catching design and wide array of collectible items.
"For fifty years, Doraemon has meant more than just stories on a page. It has captured childhood imagination and taught timeless lessons about friendship and kindness," said a representative of Kim Dong Publishing House.
The adventures of Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Jaian, and Suneo have left a lasting mark on generations of readers, many of whom continue to cherish the manga well into adulthood.
By bringing the anniversary edition to Vietnam, the publisher hopes to rekindle affection for the classic series and reflect on its lasting influence on both culture and values.
