For the first time since marching in Russia's Victory Day parade, the 68-member Vietnamese military contingent will officially recreate their proud moment at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on Sunday.
The Vietnamese military contingent’s participation in the parade marked the first time the Vietnam People’s Army has joined Russia’s annual Victory Day celebration.
The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of Russia’s victory in the Great Patriotic War.

At My Dinh Stadium, the soldiers arranged themselves into a V-formation while singing the national anthem and practicing recreating the parade sequence.
Among them was Sergeant Bui Quang Linh, who previously gained online attention for his multi-talented videos—acting as a reporter, cameraman, emcee, and even singing in Chinese.
Linh shared that he and his fellow soldiers spent about a week training for the performance.
“Despite the heat, everyone in our unit is highly aware of our responsibility and gives their best," Linh said.
“We've completed most of the technical choreography—what’s left is syncing with the stage lighting and music."

Marching on Red Square was a great national honor and responsibility, but performing at My Dinh also comes with its own challenges as cameras and lights are everywhere, Linh said.
Every movement must be sharp and accurate because tens of thousands of people will be watching, he added.
Sergeant Nguyen Huu Quan echoed that whether marching on Moscow’s Red Square or onstage at My Dinh, the feeling is the same—deep patriotism, a strong sense of duty, and a desire to express Vietnam’s unity and peaceful spirit.
“For me, this isn’t just an event to honor the patriotic spirit of soldiers, but also a meaningful occasion for civilians and the military to come together, strengthening national unity,” Quan shared.

The grand music performance on the evening of August 10 at My Dinh Stadium will gather around 50,000 people who will sing the national anthem together under the national flag.
