The 25th Asian Physics Olympiad took place from May 4 to 12 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, with 30 delegations from 29 countries and territories, and 208 contestants.
Students completed two five-hour exams: a theoretical exam and a practical exam.
This year’s theoretical exam featured modern and practical applications of physics such as: the precession of Earth's axis affecting global climate, spin waves related to quantum computers, and the greenhouse effect.
The practical exam was about electromagnetic induction and its applications in induction cookers.
Vietnam ranked among the top five delegations alongside China, South Korea, Taipei, and Russia.
In 2024, the Vietnamese team earned one gold, one silver, and six bronze medals.
