American group to give live concert in southern Vietnam

A young performance group from an American university will give a live performance combining dance and song in southern Vietnam on May 16.

The “Heartsongs: Melody of Love Concert” will take place at 7:30 pm at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music at 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1, featuring talented performers from Brigham Young University’s Young Ambassadors group.

The 90-minute concert will showcase dance and song, and include songs from well-known award-winning Broadway musicals such as “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “Cinderella,” “Singing In the Rain,” and “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

The show will amaze audiences with love songs made famous by big names including the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Adele.

The Young Ambassadors represent the School of Music in cooperation with the Department of Dance from the College of Fine Arts and Communications at Brigham Young University in the U.S.

Over the past 44 years, the group has shared their remarkable talent and energetic performances in 66 countries including Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Russia, Australia, Korea, Japan, and China.

Before bringing the concert to Vietnam and Thailand in 2014, the group toured Cambodia last year.

The Young Ambassadors company consists of 20 performers (ten men and ten women), a ten-piece band (including keyboard, drums, guitar, and bass guitar), and nine technical personnel.
