Lottery operator Vietlott announced that a player had won the Mega 6/45 jackpot worth VND31,281,381,500 ($1.2 million) in the draw held on Wednesday evening.
The winning numbers were 04-10-14-22-25-44.
Under Vietnam's personal income tax regulations, lottery winnings exceeding VND10 million ($387) are subject to a 10-percent tax on the amount above that threshold.
The winner will therefore pay approximately VND3.1 billion ($120,000) in taxes, taking home around VND28.1 billion ($1.09 million).
The draw also produced 63 first-prize winners, each receiving VND10 million ($387), along with 1,882 second-prize winners receiving VND300,000 ($11.61) each and 28,104 third-prize winners collecting VND30,000 ($1.16) each.
Meanwhile, attention is turning to Vietlott's Power 6/55 draw scheduled for Thursday evening.
As of the Tuesday draw, Jackpot 1 had climbed to more than VND177 billion ($6.85 million), while Jackpot 2 stood at approximately VND5.2 billion ($198,000).
Vietlott said jackpot prizes continue to accumulate until a winning ticket is drawn.
The largest Jackpot 1 prize in Vietlott's history, worth more than VND344.9 billion ($13.35 million), was awarded to a customer in Ho Chi Minh City in July 2025.
Established in 2011 under Vietnam's Ministry of Finance, Vietlott is a state-owned lottery operator that launched its first computerized lottery game, Mega 6/45, in July 2016.
The company has since expanded its offerings to include Power 6/55, Keno, and other lottery games, allowing players to select their own numbers and compete for jackpots that accumulate when no winning ticket is drawn.
