Apple expands technical training for supply chain workers in Vietnam

The courses will focus on smart manufacturing, automation, and programming, and will be held at facilities operated by key Apple suppliers including Foxconn, Lens, BYD, Goertek, Innovation, and Yuto.

These companies assemble and produce components for products like iPads, Macs, AirPods, and Apple Watches.

Apple said the initiative will nearly double the number of educational opportunities currently available to workers in its Vietnamese supply chain.

The tech giant has partnered with suppliers in Vietnam since 2017 to deliver training in technical skills, leadership, and health education.

One standout initiative is a health and wellness program for production team leaders, developed in collaboration with top medical and academic institutions.

Globally, Apple's supplier health programs have reached more than 5.8 million workers since 2017.

This year, Apple is also expanding its vocational education program for people with disabilities in Vietnam, beginning with three local suppliers.

The initiative aims to improve accessibility, safety, and inclusion at supplier sites, while creating new employment and career advancement pathways.

To date, more than 18,000 supplier employees in Vietnam have participated in the program.

"We're excited to expand technical training to more suppliers in Vietnam, enabling their employees to acquire new skills in advanced fields and build stronger careers."
