They posted on X on Thursday: “Vietnam join the list of #Saudi2027 qualifiers 🇻🇳.”
Vietnam secured qualification on Tuesday after the Asian Football Confederation awarded a 3-0 forfeit win over Malaysia in their Group F qualifier, following a ruling that the Malaysians had fielded ineligible players.
Malaysia had originally won a June 2025 match 4-0, but the result was overturned along with another victory against Nepal in March 2025, with both matches recorded as 0-3 defeats and a fine imposed on the Football Association of Malaysia.
The decision reshaped the Group F standings, sending Vietnam to the top of the table and securing their place at the 2027 finals.
