A 42-year-old Australian man died in a motorbike accident in southern Vung Tau City on Wednesday afternoon

Aussie man dies in Vietnam motorbike accident

A 42-year-old Australian man died in a motorbike accident in the southern city of Vung Tau on Wednesday.

The accident occurred in the afternoon in front of a house at 28 Ha Long Street, Ward 2, killing Wintergreene Christopher James, of Australian nationality, immediately.

James drove his vehicle into the sidewalk when he was making a turn.

The crash threw the foreigner to the ground and his head hit the base of a lamppost on the street.

The victim was not wearing a helmet.

James had worked for a foreign company that is a partner of an oil and gas company in Vung Tau.

In early October 2012, another Australian man, 19-year-old Pat Cullen, also died in a motorbike accident when he was vacationing in Hanoi.
