A video that went viral on social media Monday shows a group blocking the road with a badminton net.
When a ride-hailing driver tried to pass and objected, one of the men went into a house, came back with a knife, and threatened him.
The incident occurred earlier on Monday morning on Road No. 60 in the Van Minh residential area.
Dashcam footage from the ride-hailing car showed the vehicle being obstructed by the group, who had stretched the net across the entire width of the road to play badminton, ignoring passing traffic.
T.T.T., the ride-hailing driver in question, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that he was entering the residential area to pick up a passenger when he encountered the group of older individuals blocking the road.
After lowering his car’s window to express concerns, the group reacted negatively.
In a hurry to pick up his passenger, T. continued driving. After dropping off the customer, he returned to confront the group due to their brazen behavior.
One man from the group went into his house and came out with a knife to intimidate him. T. then drove away.
Frustrated by the incident, T. uploaded the video to social media to warn against such reckless actions.
