According to Quang Tri General Hospital, the two victims were admitted for emergency treatment after suffering multiple bee stings.

Doctors said both patients had numerous sting wounds and were experiencing significant pain.

Medical teams provided initial treatment and continue to monitor them closely for potentially serious complications, including anaphylactic shock and kidney failure.

The patients were identified as H.T.H.C., 42, and N.K.P., 60.

They said several dozen people were accompanying a funeral procession to a cemetery in a hilly area of Nam Dong Ha Ward on Tuesday morning when a swarm of bees suddenly attacked them.

Many people were stung, but only the two with the most severe symptoms had been taken to hospital as of noon.

The incident comes just over a week after another wild swarm struck the province.

On October 21, 27 students at Hai Lang Middle School in Hai Lang Commune were hospitalized after being attacked by a bee colony in a mahogany tree in the schoolyard.

Fortunately, none of the students developed severe symptoms.

They were discharged after treatment and observation, with their health conditions reported as stable.
