In a heartfelt post published on September 29 on its official Facebook fanpage, Bready - Banh Mi Tuoi (Fresh Bread) declared it would shut its doors on October 1, marking the end of a 21-year journey.

“After 21 years of companionship and service, we respectfully announce that the journey called ‘Bready – Banh Mi Tuoi’ will officially come to a close,” the post read.

“Over the past two decades, we’ve had the privilege of sharing countless fresh, delicious loaves and meals, along with stories, smiles, and the deep connection of our valued customers.

"Your trust and support have been the driving force behind our journey until today.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our customers, partners, and employees who have contributed to this memorable 21-year journey."

Founded in 2004 by Dr. Tran Quang Vinh, Bready was born from an unexpected source of inspiration.

While visiting Vietnam’s first foreign fast-food outlet, Dr. Vinh was struck by the professionalism and efficiency of the model.

Motivated to create a uniquely Vietnamese version that catered to the fast-paced lifestyle of residents in Ho Chi Minh City, he launched Bready as a modern, locally owned alternative.

The news of the closure has prompted an outpouring of sentiment on social media.

Many longtime customers expressed regret, calling Bready more than just a bakery to them, it was ‘a part of youth.’
