The handover took effect on August 27, Pon Phu Thai Mobility said in a statement on Monday.
As part of the transition, CT-Wearnes Vietnam Co., Ltd. has been renamed Pon Phu Thai Luxury Cars Co., Ltd., while assuming all existing rights and obligations related to Bentley's business operations in Vietnam.
Pon Phu Thai Mobility said the transition would not affect the benefits of existing Bentley vehicle owners in Vietnam.
Warranty, after-sales and customer care services will continue to be provided in accordance with Bentley standards, while the new distributor will continue investing in its retail and service network and customer experience, according to the company.
Anouk Van Houwelingen, general director of Pon Phu Thai Mobility, said the company would continue investing in operational capabilities, customer care and its retail network to support Bentley's long-term development in Vietnam.
The company sees Vietnam as a market with room for growth in the luxury and ultra-luxury vehicle segments, amid increasing demand for vehicle personalization and tailored customer services, it said.
The takeover also expands Pon Phu Thai Mobility's portfolio of luxury vehicle brands in Vietnam.
The joint venture currently represents Jaguar and Land Rover in the country.
Bentley is a British luxury brand owned by Volkswagen Group. One of the brand's distinctive features is its vehicle personalization programs, which offer customers a wide range of materials, colors and equipment tailored to their requirements.
Pon Holdings has more than 125 years of experience in the automotive and mobility sectors and is a long-standing partner of Volkswagen Group in various markets.
It currently operates Bentley retail businesses in the Netherlands and the United States.
Pon Holdings has annual revenue of more than €10 billion, employs around 11,300 people in 32 countries, and operates across sectors ranging from automobiles and bicycles to mobility services.
Meanwhile, Phu Thai Holdings is a Vietnamese group with more than 30 years of experience in distribution, investment and partnerships with international brands.
The change in Bentley's distributor comes as Vietnam's premium automotive market undergoes restructuring in its distribution networks, with various brands increasing investment in showrooms, after-sales services and vehicle personalization programs to compete for high-value customers.
