Bookings for Hyundai Stargazer 2026 open in Vietnam

Some sales consultants at a Hanoi-based dealership said that the 2026 Stargazer is now open for advance orders with a deposit of VND10 million (US$386).

While the distributor has yet to release official details about the model, dealers indicated that the first batch of vehicles could be handed over to customers around March.

Based on recently-captured images of three Stargazer 2026 units undergoing emissions testing in Hanoi and appearing at the Hyundai Thanh Cong factory, the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer features notable exterior revisions compared to the current version.

The front end adopts a new grille with horizontal slats and a more angular front bumper.

The main headlights are positioned higher with a squarer shape, while the daytime running lights are thicker and form a distinctive H-shaped signature.

The cars seen also suggest at least two variants, distinguished by different wheel designs.

Interior images reveal an upgraded dashboard layout, highlighted by a new dual-screen set-up combining two 10.25-inch displays.

The infotainment screen displays a Vietnamese-language interface, while the touch-sensitive climate control area has been redesigned with a cleaner, more streamlined layout.

Further details regarding additional interior enhancements have yet to be disclosed.

The 2026 Hyundai Stargazer is expected to retain the familiar 1.5-liter petrol engine, producing 113 horsepower and 144Nm of torque.

Power is likely to be delivered through an iVT continuously variable transmission, driving the front wheels, consistent with the current model and international specifications.

In Indonesia, the updated Stargazer is offered with the Hyundai SmartSense active safety suite, which includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.

Meanwhile, the current-generation Stargazer continues to be sold in Vietnam.

To stimulate demand and clear inventory, Hyundai dealers are offering promotions, with discounts reaching up to VND96 million ($3,704).

Despite its competitive pricing, the Hyundai Stargazer has not been a standout performer in the compact multi-purpose vehicle segment in Vietnam.

In 2025, its cumulative sales totaled just over 3,300 units, trailing rivals such as the Honda BR-V, Kia Carens, and Mitsubishi Xpander, though still surpassing the Suzuki XL7.

The upcoming facelift is expected to improve its sales, particularly if Hyundai maintains an attractive pricing strategy.
