-- Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has ordered contractors and local authorities to urgently review, assess, and compensate farmers for crop damage near the Can Tho–Ca Mau Expressway project.

-- Tran Van Thanh, a 76-year-old war veteran from Vinh City, Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam, has traveled nearly 1,000km by motorbike on a 1,300km journey to Ho Chi Minh City to watch the military parade marking the upcoming 50th anniversary of the country’s Reunification Day on April 30.

-- TikTok Shop recorded the strongest year-on-year growth in Q1 2025 e-commerce sales at 113.8 percent, boosting its market share from 23 percent to 35 percent, while Shopee’s slower growth of 29.3 percent saw its share fall from 68 percent to 62 percent, according to a report by e-commerce market research platform Metric.

-- State-owned PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) reported a Q1 2025 sales volume of nearly 1.3 million cubic meter per metric tons, meeting 98 percent of its quarterly target, with revenue rising 11 percent year on year to over VND33 trillion (US$1.27 billion) and profits close to breakeven.
