-- General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen will lead high-level delegations from their respective countries to attend the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and Reunification Day on April 30.

-- A state-level rehearsal for the military parade and march in preparation for the upcoming Reunification Day celebration on April 30 is taking place in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday morning. 

-- The National Hospital for Tropical Diseases reported on Saturday that it admitted a five-year-old girl from Hanoi who had been attacked on the head and in the face by a household dog weighing over 20kg. Upon admission, the girl had more than 10 wounds.

-- Police in Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam said on Saturday that they conducted an urgent inspection into the production facility and warehouse of Famimoto Vietnam Co. Ltd. on Thursday, discovering and temporarily seizing over 71,000 liters of cooking oil, 40 metric tons of monosodium glutamate, 22 metric tons of seasoning granules, and nine metric tons of seasoning powder–all of which are counterfeit.

-- A 29-seater passenger bus overturned on the Tam Dao mountain pass in Vinh Phuc Province, northern Vietnam, leaving three people dead and eight others injured on Saturday.

-- After a high-altitude fireworks display on Saturday evening, Bach Dang Wharf Park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City was left flooded with trash.

-- Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast generated VND44.019 trillion, equivalent to US$1.8 billion, in revenue in 2024, surging 57.9 percent over the previous year, according to the company's unaudited financial results.

-- U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis, met one-on-one in a marble-lined Vatican basilica on Saturday to try to revive faltering efforts to end Russia’s conflict with Ukraine, according to Reuters.

-- Chinese social media platform TikTok will enter the online shopping industry in Japan within the next few months, the Nikkei newspaper reported on Sunday.
