-- A passenger bus carrying 25 people plunged about 100 meters down an embankment on a rural road in Son La Province, northern Vietnam on Sunday, killing one person and injuring six others who were taken to hospital, police said.
-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has proposed fines of up to VND4 million (US$152) for food handlers who fail to cut their fingernails, do not wear gloves when handling ready-to-eat food, or engage in activities such as wearing jewelry, eating, smoking or spitting in production areas, under a draft decree reviewed by the Ministry of Justice to replace existing food safety penalty rules.
