-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son have sent congratulatory messages to the leaders and people of Singapore on the occasion of this country’s 60th National Day (August 9, 1965 – August 9, 2025).

-- The Vietnamese government on Friday issued a decree on a limited-term visa waiver scheme for foreign nationals in specially designated categories whose presence is deemed beneficial to the country’s socio-economic development.

-- Two Vietnamese tourists died at sea in Greece on Friday as gale-force winds confined many ferries to port, disrupting travel for tens of thousands of summer travellers, and also sparked fires, AFP cited the coastguard as saying.

-- A crash between a bus and a truck in Brazil's center-western state of Mato Grosso killed 11 people and injured another 45 late Friday, Reuters reported, citing the toll road operator and Brazil's federal highway police.
