-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam met staff at the Vietnamese Embassy and members of the Vietnamese community in Seoul on Sunday during a state visit to South Korea.
Society
-- Vietnam has yet to record any chikungunya cases but faces risks due to the peak season for Aedes mosquitoes, high mosquito densities in several provinces, and the summer tourism, the Ministry of Health said. The mosquito-borne viral disease has seen a rapid rise in cases in China while Singapore has reported its first infections.
-- The Red Cross in Da Nang and the Vietnam Foodbanking Network launched the Da Nang Food Bank on Sunday to provide emergency aid to people affected by natural disasters and vulnerable groups.

-- Vietnam’s total bank lending rose nearly 10 percent in the first half of 2025 to VND15 quadrillion (US$572 billion).
Travel
-- Vietnam’s Sun PhuQuoc Airways, a newly-established carrier under Sun Group, received its first aircraft — a brand-new Airbus A321NX delivered from Hamburg — at Phu Quoc airport on Sunday, the company said. The airline, founded in June with registered capital of VND2.5 trillion ($95.3 million), plans to add seven more aircraft and begin operations within 2025.
-- Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s Terminal 3, a VND11 trillion ($419.4 million) project, has shown shortcomings in its pickup area despite offering a more modern and spacious design since opening over four months ago.
-- A high-quality passenger train from Hanoi to Dong Hoi departed at 8:00 pm on Sunday, carrying its first passengers to north-central Quang Tri Province, including foreign tourists.
