-- Vietnam's Party General Secretary To Lam had a high-level meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the office of the South Korean president on Monday as part of the former’s four-day visit to the East Asian nation.

-- Ngo Phuong Ly, the spouse of Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam, met with Vietnamese brides living in Seoul on Monday.

-- The Vietnam Expressway Corporation has approved a project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway to eight to 10 lanes from the current four lanes. The construction is scheduled to begin on August 19.

-- African swine fever has appeared in 43 out of 69 wards and communes in Ha Tinh Province, north-central Vietnam, causing nearly 5,000 pigs to become infected and die, a local official reported on Monday.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has proposed the municipal government consider the dissolution of the American International School Vietnam, following a prolonged suspension of operations during which the school failed to rectify its violations.
