-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam on Tuesday hosted a reception for visiting Sergey Shoigu, secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, stressing that the visit would help strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ security, defense and other strategic agencies.

-- Central Vietnam faces heavy rain on Wednesday due to disturbances from a weakening tropical depression, while a low-pressure system is active in the southern East Vietnam Sea.

-- Forest rangers in Dong Nai Province said on Tuesday they are setting traps to capture a group of six wild monkeys that have attacked several residents in Tran Bien Ward.

-- Apple said on Tuesday it will expand its clean water project for schools in Vietnam to 15 more schools in Ca Mau Province in early 2026.

-- Authorities in Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam said they are seeking VND20 billion (US$758,366) to repair a VND84-billion ($3.2 million) coastal embankment at Trung Giang public beach, which had only recently been handed over, after waves destroyed 120 meters and left another 100 meters at risk.

-- Authorities said on Tuesday that Da Nang has approved a nearly VND9-trillion ($341.3 million) compensation, support, and resettlement project for a high-speed railway covering nine of the city’s 24 wards and communes.

-- Coast guard officials said on Wednesday they are continuing to search for one missing fisherman after a fishing boat carrying eight people from Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam sank about 50 nautical miles off Vung Ang, with seven rescued.
