-- Investigators of the Department of Public Security of Ca Mau Province in southern Vietnam have initiated criminal proceedings against three individuals for allegedly organizing the illegal exit of more than 25 people to South Korea’s Jeju Island under the guise of tourism, with the intention of staying on to work illegally.

-- A total of 49 traffic accidents occurred nationwide on New Year's Day, resulting in 18 deaths and 41 injuries, down 24 cases and 23 deaths year on year, according to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security.

-- Twelve groups of seafood and seafood products caught using gillnets, trawls, purse seines, and other fishing methods are no longer allowed to be shipped to the United States, starting from Thursday, as they have not been recognized as equivalent to the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
