-- Police in Ninh Binh Province, northern Vietnam said on Tuesday they had charged two suspects over an interprovincial ring accused of producing and selling counterfeit shampoo and body wash, after seizing nearly 30,000 fake finished and semi-finished products and raiding seven production and storage sites in Ninh Binh and Hanoi.

Economy

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade adjusted retail fuel prices from 0:00 on Wednesday, with E5 RON92 gasoline rising by VND1,426 (US$0.054) to VND20,785 ($0.79) per liter and E10 RON95-III up by VND1,287 ($0.049) to VND21,203 ($0.81) per liter.

-- Vietnam consumed about 850 million liters of biofuel gasoline between June 1 and June 24, with E10 accounting for about 800 million liters, or 94.12 percent of total biofuel gasoline sales, according to Vietnam Economic News.

-- Vietnam’s government has extended through September 30 the application of zero-percent preferential import duty, zero-percent environmental protection tax, and a zero-percent value-added tax rate on gasoline, oil, fuel production materials, and aviation fuel.

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on Tuesday officially launched the national agricultural product traceability system following a pilot program for durians, marking its transition into full operation.

-- A newly discovered cave named Victory in Vietnam’s Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park contains thousands of rare cave pearls alongside extensive stalactite formations, park authorities and tour operator Jungle Boss said, describing the formations as scientifically significant geological features created over hundreds to thousands of years.

-- According to Coc Coc Research data released on Tuesday, Vietnamese searches containing 'World Cup' surged 1,550 percent from a month before the tournament, while football-related searches rose 480 percent, with users mainly seeking live updates on fixtures, standings, and results during the group stage.
