-- Hanoi has completed the main components of seven emergency flood-control projects, including five retention lakes with a combined capacity of nearly three million cubic meters, to strengthen water regulation and reduce flooding in flood-prone areas.

-- More than 100 children in Ho Chi Minh City took part in a one-day firefighting experience program on Saturday, a meaningful summer activity that equipped them with fire prevention, firefighting, rescue, and emergency response knowledge and skills.

-- The Department of Health in Dak Lak Province concluded that 28 students at Hoang Viet School who developed symptoms of suspected food poisoning earlier this month were linked to rolled eggs after the food sample tested positive for Salmonella bacteria.

-- Nearly 10,000 chickens at a farm in Thanh Hoa Province, north-central Vietnam suffocated after a short circuit caused a power outage at the facility on Friday.

-- Twenty individual sets of remains believed to belong to Vietnamese war martyrs, seven sets of accompanying personal artifacts, and one communal burial containing commingled remains were recovered at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday. The total number of recovered remains has now reached 49 individual sets and one communal burial, according to a report by the Ho Chi Minh City High Command's martyrs remains recovery team.

-- Vietnam became the largest importer of U.S. cotton in 2025 while the U.S. was the largest export market for Vietnam's textile and garment industry in the first four months of 2026.

-- Vietnam has many advantages to achieve its goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045, World Bank country director for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos Mariam J. Sherman said.
