-- Within three days from Friday last week, the M'Drak Medical Center in Dak Lak Province recorded 64 cases of hospitalization with symptoms of suspected food poisoning. Many patients reported that they had eaten banh mi, the deputy director of the medical center said on Monday.

-- Authorities in Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam plan to build 51 resettlement areas for those affected by the North–South high-speed railway project, assigning 35 communes and wards as investors responsible for handling any complications arising during land clearance.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday visited the construction site of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway project in southern Vietnam and required the project investor and contractors to accelerate construction to achieve technical opening by December 19.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on Monday issued an urgent document to departments, agencies, wards, communes, and special zones, requesting the prompt implementation of response plans for the impacts of storm Wipha, the third storm to enter the East Vietnam Sea this year.

-- To ensure safety during storm Wipha, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam decided to temporarily suspend operations at Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh Province and Cat Bi Airport in Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam from 11:00 pm on Monday to 12:00 pm on Tuesday.

-- As of 5:30 pm on Monday, the Ministry of National Defense had mobilized 346,210 officers and soldiers, over 5,000 vehicles, more than 600 specialized vehicles, and five aircraft to support emergency responses to Wipha.

-- As storm Wipha approaches, the Department of Tourism in Ninh Binh Province, northern Vietnam has ordered a temporary suspension of all inland waterway tourist transport activities at all tourist areas and sites starting from 1:00 pm on Monday until further notice.
