-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on Monday afternoon received the ambassadors of the United States, Portugal, Iran, Mongolia, and Myanmar as they presented their credentials to begin their diplomatic missions in Vietnam.

Society

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways has proposed that the municipal People's Committee approve a study on extending the proposed metro line No. 3 (Vung Tau–Ba Ria–Phu My) to connect with the Long Thanh International Airport area in neighboring Dong Nai City.

-- Starting July 10, vehicles will be prohibited from traveling on the Cam Lo–La Son Expressway, which connects Hue City and Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam, from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am the following day.

-- Japan plans to use its official development assistance to help about 10 developing countries, including Vietnam, curb the rising piracy of Japanese manga, anime and games, Kyodo News reported, citing a Japanese government official.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a plan to expand the Saigon High-Tech Park, with the 194.84-hectare expansion area designated to include a science and technology park.

-- Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has approved the governing board of the International Financial Center in Vietnam, appointing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang as its chairman.
