-- As an active and responsible member of the international community, Vietnam stands ready to contribute to multilateral mechanisms in order to promote cooperation, enhance connectivity, and address shared challenges toward building a fairer and more sustainable world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at the high-level discussion on 'Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic–Financial Issues, and Artificial Intelligence' at the expanded BRICS summit 2025 held in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (local time).

-- Vietnam’s Law on Digital Technology Industry, recently passed by the National Assembly and set to take effect on January 1, 2026, will include policies to attract talent with competitive salaries on par with those offered internationally, said Nguyen Khac Lich, director of the Information and Communications Technology Industry Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications, at a press conference on Monday.

-- Police in Hanoi, in coordination with Interpol, have arrested Ngo Thi Theu, the wife of Le Khac Ngo, also known as Mr. Hunter, while she was hiding in Thailand and preparing to flee to Turkey, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, director of the Hanoi police department, said at a press briefing on Monday. Ngo is wanted for allegedly being involved in a large-scale online fraud scheme.

-- Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved a decision to discontinue the use of non-refundable ODA and concessional loans from the German Development Bank for metro line No. 2 project in Ho Chi Minh City as proposed by the municipal government.

-- Ho Chi Minh City will officially begin constructing the new Rach Tom Bridge on Thursday, replacing the deteriorated iron bridge that has been used for more than half a century, a local official said on Monday.

-- The Food Safety Management Board in Da Nang City, central Vietnam said on Monday that it is coordinating with relevant agencies to verify a report from a resident about rice noodles purchased from a market changing color from white to red.
