-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Stockholm for Hanoi on Friday, successfully concluding their working trip to three European nations including France, Estonia, and Sweden.

-- PM Chinh held talks with his Swedish counterpart Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm on Friday morning (local time) as part of the former’s official visit to Sweden, where both leaders agreed to upgrade bilateral ties to a sectoral strategic partnership in science, technology, and innovation.

-- Vietnam is deeply concerned about the current tensions in the Middle East and condemns dangerous escalations, the use of force, violations of international law and the United Nations Charter, and infringements on national sovereignty, said Pham Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a press briefing in Hanoi on Friday.

-- Storm Wutip, the first storm to hit the East Vietnam Sea this year, is expected to weaken as it approaches the western coast of China’s Leizhou Peninsula on Saturday afternoon, with strong winds still affecting Vietnam’s northern coastal areas, including Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.

-- Flooding triggered by unusual early-summer rains has killed four people and left four others missing across Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Hue in central Vietnam as of Friday, with more than 2,400 residents evacuated and over 24,000 hectares of rice and other crops submerged.

-- Police in Soc Trang Province, southern Vietnam have dismantled a major drug trafficking ring, arresting eight suspects and seizing a large quantity of synthetic drugs, vehicles, and nearly VND1 billion (US$38,100) in cash, authorities announced on Friday evening.
