-- The Vietnamese government will hold a press conference this afternoon to announce the cause of the mass fish death in four central provinces in April.

-- Robbery combating police in Ho Chi Minh City have received 100 motorbikes from a local company.

-- Police officers captured over 300 people during a raid on a karaoke restaurant in the northern city of Hai Phong on Wednesday. Many of the arrestees tested positive for drugs. Crystal meth and ecstasy were also found at the place.

-- Doctors at Dong Nai Children’s Hospital have successfully conducted a surgery for a 15-month-old baby girl who suffered a rare kidney malformation.

-- A memorial service will be held for nine members of the search crew who died in action aboard Vietnamese coast guard aircraft CASA-212 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the National Defense Ministry’s Funeral House in Hanoi.

-- A number of local writers have raised their voices after the copyright of their works was sold to an online library without their consent. The Vietnam Literary Copyright Center has sold the copyright of the works by 189 writers at VND50 million (US$2,232) in a period of one year to the Waka online library and magazine.
