-- Dao Thi Bich Thuy, spouse of Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, together with Vandara Siphandone, spouse of the Lao PM; Pich Chamony, spouse of the Cambodian PM; and Thananon Niramit, spouse of the Thai PM visited the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on Monday, within the framework of their official visit to Vietnam.

-- The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on Monday morning issued a notice urging the Vietnamese community in the country to remain vigilant and strictly follow local security instructions amid an increasingly complex security situation.

-- At talks on Monday, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and his Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet discussed major directions for strengthening Vietnam–Cambodia connectivity in the coming period, including studying the establishment of special economic zones and cross-border economic zones.

-- Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul agreed at talks on Monday to work toward achieving the bilateral trade target of US$25 billion in the near future and to aim for $50 billion thereafter.

-- Ho Chi Minh City traffic police have recently intensified inspections and crackdowns on alcohol- and drug-related violations at Binh Dien Wholesale Market in an effort to ensure traffic safety as well as public security and order in the area.

-- A tourist speedboat carrying 19 people sank while operating on the Cu Lao Cham–Cua Dai route off Da Nang City in central Vietnam on Sunday afternoon, but all passengers and crew were brought safely ashore thanks to a timely rescue operation.

Economy

-- Asia Park Co. Ltd. won the auction for a prime land lot designated for a complex serving the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, with the winning bid exceeding VND1.752 trillion ($66.2 million).

-- Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO, has made nearly 5.5 million seats available on its domestic network from early June to August 16 to meet peak summer travel demand.
