-- During his official visit to Russia and attendance at the 80th anniversary of Russia’s Victory of Great Patriotic War, Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow on Saturday (local time).

-- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong on Saturday sent a message of congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost on being elected as the 267th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the same day.

Society

-- The Vietnamese embassies in India and Pakistan have issued safety recommendations for the Vietnamese citizens in the two countries amid the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan.

Travel

-- Saigontourist Group, in collaboration with Vietnam Airlines, organized a Vietnam tourism promotion program in Russia and launched a direct air route between Hanoi and Moscow on Saturday, as part of the state visit by Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam and his spouse to Russia.

-- Authorities in Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam announced on Monday that Hai Phong Station, built in 1902, is now a tourist attraction. It is the first stop for visitors exploring the city by rail.

-- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that India and Pakistan had agreed to a "full and immediate ceasefire" after a fourth day of strikes and counter-strikes against each other's military installations, accoridng to Reuters.

-- Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng resumed talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Saturday afternoon in Geneva in a tentative first step towards defusing a trade war that is disrupting the global economy, Reuters reported.
