-- Authorities in Da Nang City will publicly disclose information and impose penalties on service providers that arbitrarily raise prices, fail to list prices, collect improper fees, or provide poor-quality services during the International Fireworks Festival 2026, which will run from May 30 to July 11.

-- Hanoi’s Department of Construction has issued three notices on road barriers and traffic diversions on several central streets to ensure traffic safety during the construction of flood prevention projects in the capital.

-- Three children aged between 10 and 12 went swimming in the Tra Khuc River on Friday afternoon and were later found drowning, a leader of the People’s Committee of Truong Giang Commune in Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam confirmed on Saturday.

In Hung Yen Province in the north, two students aged 14 drowned after being caught in a whirlpool area while swimming in the Red River with two others on Friday, the provincial police said on Saturday.

-- Traffic police in Dong Thap Province, southern Vietnam said on Saturday that they had penalized a man for allowing a four-year-old boy to operate a motorboat on the Tien River for about three minutes and filming the incident before posting the video on social media.

-- Ho Chi Minh City police said on Saturday that they had dismantled a ring that smuggled cyanide from Cambodia into Vietnam and prosecuted 35 people. In March and April alone, the group transported more than 2.4 tonnes of cyanide.

-- A fake Facebook page impersonating the Vinpearl Nha Trang tourist resort in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam has been offering numerous promotions in an attempt to scam tourists out of money.

-- Truong Hai Auto Corporation, or THACO, has proposed a series of mining projects in Lam Dong Province, including a bauxite-alumina complex with an estimated investment of US$4.4 billion, the provincial Department of Finance said on Saturday.

-- Vietnamese gymnast Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu won a gold medal at the 2026 FIG World Challenge Cup in Uzbekistan on Saturday.
