-- Vietnam recorded 268 traffic accidents nationwide during the five-day holiday marking the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), killing 128 people and injuring 203, down from 347 accidents, 138 deaths, and 285 injuries during the same period in 2024, according to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security.
-- Police in Lam Dong Province are investigating a convoy of 67 cars belonging to a Ho Chi Minh City business club that blocked multiple points along National Highway 20 to pass through on different days last week.
-- Police in Dak Lak Province said on Sunday that they caught seven people carrying four homemade guns and 560 rounds of ammunition while hunting wildlife in a forest in Krong Nang District.

-- Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism department said about 2.7 million visits were made to local attractions from April 20 to May 4 during the holiday period marking Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day, including an estimated 355,000 international arrivals, generating around VND15.7 trillion (US$603.73 million) in revenue.
-- Da Nang received around 610,000 visitors during the April 30 to May 4 holiday, up more than 50 percent from the same period in 2024, with about 230,400 staying overnight, one-third of them international tourists, local authorities said on Sunday. Tourism revenue reached an estimated VND2.43 trillion ($93.44 million), also up more than 50 percent year on year.
