-- Storm Fung Wong moved into the northeastern part of the East Vietnam Sea early on Monday, becoming the 14th storm to form in the region this year, Vietnam’s weather agency said.

-- A sudden thunderstorm on Sunday evening toppled trees and power poles in Phu Giao Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, damaging several motorbikes but causing no reported injuries, local authorities said.

-- Heavy rain on Sunday afternoon caused flooding on several streets in former Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, disrupting traffic and leaving residents struggling to move through submerged roads.

-- The Vuon Chuoi archeological site in Hoai Duc Commune, Hanoi, which provides evidence of a continuously-developed ancient village dating back nearly 4,000 years, was officially recognized as a municipal heritage site on Sunday.

-- Da Nang authorities called for repairs to 30 deteriorating ancient houses in Hoi An following recent floods and storm Kalmaegi, during an inspection trip on Sunday.

Economy

-- E-commerce platforms in Vietnam are largely free of counterfeit goods, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said on Saturday in response to questions from Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper about measures to prevent fake products on online marketplaces.

-- Vietnamese coffee chain Three O’Clock entered the Indian market on Saturday, opening three stores in Gurugram under an international franchise agreement, the company said.

Education

-- Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City announced the launch of the 2025 Jensen Huang Scholarship Program, a US$1 million Nvidia-backed initiative to develop Vietnam’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, with $200,000 allocated for student training and incentives and $800,000 in GPU resources for research and innovation projects.
