-- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended the Meeting of the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter‑Parliamentary Assembly Executive Committee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

-- The center of a tropical depression was located over the northeastern area of the northern East Vietnam Sea at 1:00 am on Thursday, with maximum sustained winds of level 7 (50-61 kilometers per hour) and gusts reaching level 9, according to the national weather center.

-- Traffic on No Trang Long Street in Binh Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City was thrown into chaos on Wednesday evening as the traffic light at the No Trang Long – Phan Chu Trinh intersection remained stuck on red for an extended period.

-- Police in Da Nang City, central Vietnam said on Wednesday that they had rescued two Chinese nationals who were illegally held and physically assaulted by a group after losing heavily during a gambling spree and falling into debt at a casino.

-- A collision between a truck and a motorcycle killed two people and injured an eight-year-old girl on a road in Thanh An Commune, Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday night.

Economy

-- The Singapore-based United Overseas Bank (UOB) has revised its forecast for Vietnam’s GDP growth this year to 7.5 percent, up from its previous projection of 6.9 percent.

-- Many experts have advised that Vietnam should urgently launch a digital infrastructure revolution, including the development and operation of data centers, smart building design, and the implementation of intelligent power grids, to keep pace with the AI wave.

-- The first company at the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Can Tho in Can Tho City has been granted an investment certificate to build a toy and sports equipment manufacturing plant, with a total capital of US$100 million. The facility is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2026.
