-- The fight against corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena must follow the motto of ‘talk less, do more’ and ‘see things through to the end,’ Party General Secretary and State President To Lam told a meeting of standing members of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena on Thursday, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- Hanoi has established four inter-agency inspection teams to conduct unannounced checks on school meals at schools from September 20 through May 31, 2027, focusing on food sources, meal portions, menus, and the capacity of food suppliers.

-- Regarding the severe flooding on many streets in Hanoi on Thursday, the Hanoi technical infrastructure management center under the municipal Department of Construction held a review meeting to draw lessons from the incident, identify existing shortcomings and bottlenecks, and agree on measures to improve drainage efficiency across the capital, according to a press release issued by the center in the evening.

-- Torrential downpours have triggered severe flooding and landslides in Phu Tho, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and other localities over the past few days, leaving three people dead, and inundating more than 16,000 homes and over 22,000 hectares of rice paddies and crops.
