-- Vietnam holds a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi from 6:30 am to 10:00 am today, September 2. 

-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday afternoon, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 in Tianjin, China.

-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam met with Cambodian People's Party President Hun Sen on Monday, on the occasion of a high-level Cambodian delegation's visit to attend the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

-- At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit on Monday in Tianjin, China, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that no country can address today’s multidimensional challenges alone, underscoring the urgent need to promote multilateralism, solidarity, and international cooperation.

-- By late Monday afternoon, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Bai, Trang Tien, and Hang Khay Streets in Hanoi were fully occupied by people waiting to watch the military parade scheduled for the next morning (September 2).

-- An old bomb buried underground exploded at 2:00 am on Monday in a durian garden in Tay Ninh Province, southern Vietnam, creating a crater nearly five meters deep, a local official confirmed the same day.

-- The administration in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam has approved investment in the Cam Ranh international marina project, the director of the provincial Department of Finance told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday.

-- The incomes of executives at national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, and Southern Airports Services Joint Stock Company have all increased significantly as the aviation market continues to recover strongly after the COVID-19 pandemic.

-- One of Afghanistan's worst earthquakes killed more than 800 people and injured at least 2,800, authorities said on Monday, as rescuers struggled to reach remote areas due to rough mountainous terrain and inclement weather, according to Reuters.
