-- The S&P Global Vietnam Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index remained above the 50.0 no-change mark in August and signalled a second consecutive monthly improvement in the health of the manufacturing sector, according to the S&P Global report released on Wednesday.

-- The Ministry of Industry and Trade has urged rice exporters to stockpile the grain to help stabilize prices during the Philippines’ suspension of rice imports.
