Brookland Group has completed the first tranche of an investment in Vietnamese recycled paper and packaging producer Miza Corporation under a long-term agreement worth US$5 million, as foreign investment in Vietnam rises and demand for recycled packaging grows.

Brookland Group & Partners Limited, an investment firm operating in Dubai and Singapore, made the investment in Miza, a Vietnamese producer of recycled paper and packaging listed under the ticker MZG, according to the investor's announcement on Wednesday.

The two sides have not disclosed the amount invested in the first tranche or the percentage of Miza shares acquired by Brookland.

The transaction involved Brookland purchasing shares from an existing Miza shareholder rather than Miza issuing new shares, and the fund plans to increase its stake in the company in stages, according to the announcement.

Founded in 2010, Miza recycles waste paper into industrial packaging paper, cardboard boxes and paper bags.

The company’s main production facility is in Nghi Son, Thanh Hoa Province, and it recorded revenue of approximately $185 million in 2025, according to the announcement.

John Hall, managing partner of Brookland Group, said Vietnam’s manufacturing sector was attracting growing interest from international investors.

He described the investment in Miza as the starting point for the fund’s long-term cooperation with the company.

The deal comes about a month after FTSE Russell upgraded Vietnam’s stock market from frontier to secondary emerging market status, creating opportunities to attract more international capital as eligible Vietnamese stocks are gradually included in global indexes.

Demand for paper and packaging in Vietnam is also growing, while requirements for greener production and recycling are becoming more stringent.

According to the Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association, domestic paper consumption rose 10.8 percent in 2025 to approximately 7.77 million metric tons, exceeding domestic production of about 6.34 million metric tons.

The deal also comes amid a sharp increase in foreign investment in Vietnam, with registered foreign investment reaching $50.36 billion in the first nine months of 2026, up 76.4 percent year on year, while disbursed foreign direct investment rose 12.1 percent to $21.07 billion, according to the National Statistics Office of Vietnam under the Ministry of Finance.
