The second leg will take place at Buriram’s Chang Arena in Thailand on May 21.
Buriram United, the reigning Thai League champions, have been one of the most prolific attacking teams in the region.
The Thai club scored 92 goals in 30 league matches this season – an average of over three goals per game – and boast a squad valued at €13.25 million (US$14.76 million), according to Transfermarkt.
Their top scorer, Brazilian forward Guilherme Bissoli, has netted 25 league goals this season and 38 in 55 appearances across all competitions since joining the club.
He finished as the Thai League’s top scorer in the 2023-24 season.
Other attacking threats for Buriram include Supachai Chaided and Lucas Crispim, the latter leading the scoring chart in the ASEAN Club Championship with five goals.
Buriram’s only defeat in the tournament so far came against Cong An Hanoi, managed by the Hanoi Department of Public Security, who beat them 2-1 in the group stage.
Cong An Hanoi, who have been in focused preparations for the final, will look to capitalize on their home advantage in the first leg.
Buriram United are expected to arrive in Hanoi on Monday ahead of the midweek fixture.
The 2024-25 ASEAN Club Championship is the third edition of the tournament, reviving the competition after a hiatus since 2005, according to the ASEAN Football Federation.
The tournament features 12 football clubs from 10 ASEAN countries, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, Cong An Hanoi secured their spot in the final by defeating Indonesia's PSM Makassar 2–1 on aggregate.
Buriram United advanced with a 3–1 aggregate win over fellow Thai side BG Pathum United.
The competition began in July 2024 and is scheduled to conclude on May 21, 2025, with a total prize fund of $3 million.
