The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) said in Notice No. 251 of 2025, posted on its official website last Friday, that the move follows current Chinese regulations and a bilateral protocol with Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
All exporting orchards and packing facilities must be registered and approved by authorities in both countries.
Approved operators will be listed on the GACC website.
Vietnamese exporters must implement quality management and traceability systems, maintain orchard hygiene, control pests using integrated methods, and follow good agricultural practices.
Packing facilities must meet strict hygiene standards, sort and clean fruits, and use approved packaging materials.
Phytosanitary checks will be conducted on two percent of shipments before export.
Chinese customs will inspect shipments at entry points, returning or destroying any consignments found with live pests, soil, or plant debris.
