The facility, located in Vinh Thanh District, will produce outdoor sports and recreational goods and is expected to generate annual revenue of $500 million and create over 5,000 jobs once fully operational, according to the company.
Covering an area of 28.6 hectares, the plant will integrate smart manufacturing, research and development, and green logistics, Bestway International’s production director Song Qing Shui said at the event.
The plant will serve both domestic and export markets and is expected to contribute significantly to the regional economy.
Nguyen Thuc Hien, deputy chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee, said Bestway’s investment confirms the city’s growing appeal as a manufacturing and investment hub.
“This project promises to bring great value to Can Tho by creating jobs and adding to the city’s revenue,” he said.
Local authorities pledged continued support for infrastructure development and an improved investment environment to facilitate the project’s implementation.
VSIP Can Tho, which began construction in September 2023, is still completing its infrastructure.
The park covers 293.7 hectares and has total investment of more than VND3.7 trillion ($142.2 million).
To date, VSIP Can Tho JSC, the park’s developer, has signed memoranda of understanding with 18 potential investors and clients for more than 100 hectares of leased land, according to local media outlet VnExpress.
Once completed, the park is expected to generate employment for between 20,000 and 30,000 workers from Can Tho and neighboring provinces.
