As the troops passed through Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street and in front of the historic Reunification Palace, they sang 'Nhu co Bac Ho trong ngay vui dai thang' (As If Uncle Ho Were Present on the Joyous Day of Great Victory), a popular revolutionary song.
The moment was recorded and widely shared by Vietnamese social media users, many of whom expressed deep emotion and appreciation for the display of solidarity.
The song, written in late April 1975 by composer Pham Tuyen, is a powerful expression of national pride and reverence for late President Ho Chi Minh, affectionately referred to as 'Uncle Ho' by generations of Vietnamese.
The phrase 'Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh' is repeated four times in the song, which is just 60 words long, resonating with many Vietnamese people.
The song's simple melody and heartfelt lyrics have given it a lasting legacy.
