According to the local meteorological station, the tide reached a peak of 2.13 meters on Wednesday morning, exceeding level-3 warning thresholds and surpassing the 2.12-meter level recorded the previous afternoon.
Experts had predicted the tide peak due to heavy upstream rainfall influenced by storm Bualoi, combined with tidal surges from the East Vietnam Sea pushing inland, leading to severe flooding in some areas, including Can Tho.
