According to the Vietnam News Agency, the ambassador visited the headquarters of the Communist Party USA as he began his new term.
The meeting was chaired by Joe Sims, co-chair of the Communist Party USA, and attended by senior party members and officials from Vietnam's permanent mission to the United Nations.
The two sides discussed the long-standing cooperation between the two Parties, states, and peoples.
They also exchanged views on international and regional developments, as well as each country's domestic context.
Representatives of the Communist Party USA voiced their admiration for Vietnam's achievements, particularly its recent progress in national development.
They praised Vietnam's ongoing efforts and reaffirmed their appreciation for the solidarity and support that the Communist Party, state, and government of Vietnam have shown to other nations and global movements.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet thanked the Party for its warm reception, noting that his visit coincided with the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution.
He acknowledged the historic support from the Communist Party and people of the United States during Vietnam's struggle for independence and unification.
He emphasized Vietnam's ongoing commitment to strengthening relations with the Communist Party USA and highlighted the country's socio-economic achievements, future development goals, and strategic direction.
These include building an independent and self-reliant economy, advancing international integration, and pursuing an independent, diverse, and multilateral foreign policy.
He stressed Vietnam's role as a reliable partner contributing to peace, cooperation, and global progress.
Both parties agreed on the importance of enhancing theoretical dialogue, promoting youth exchanges, and strengthening connections between labor and peace movements in the two countries.
