Con Market has long been known as a culinary paradise in Da Nang City, attracting visitors with authentic central Vietnamese dishes at affordable prices.
Located at the busy intersection of Hung Vuong and Ong Ich Khiem streets in central Da Nang, the market is a familiar stop for travelers to the city, dubbed as one of the most livable cities in Vietnam.
Built in 1940, Con Market earned its name because it was originally established on a sand dune, or “con,” a name that has stuck ever since.
For decades, Con Market has been seen as a symbol of Da Nang’s food culture and is considered a must-visit destination for anyone passionate about exploring local cuisine.

The market offers a wide variety of central Vietnamese specialties such as bun mam nem, nem lui, mi Quang, and banh beo.
By noon, the market becomes even livelier with a steady flow of diners at its food stalls.
Neatly arranged and visually inviting, the stalls easily woo food lovers.
Prices are also reasonable, ranging from VND30,000 to VND50,000 (about US$1.14 to 1.9), with vendors known not only for their affordable dishes but also for their warmth and hospitality.
Duc Minh, 22, a visitor from Hanoi, had long known about the market through social media and made sure to stop by with friends during his Da Nang trip.
“I tried bun mam nem and banh trang cuon. The mam nem (a fermented sauce made from fish) is delicious and really suits our taste,” he shared.

Meanwhile, Huynh Thanh Dien, 48, from the Mekong Delta province of An Giang took his family to Con Market right after landing in Da Nang.
They were especially delighted by the avocado ice cream served there.
“There are so many dishes here. You can taste all the local specialties without traveling around,” Dien said.
“We had to order small portions of many dishes to share, otherwise we would be too full,” he added. “The food is tasty and reasonably priced with no overcharging.”
