At a cost of more than VND100 billion (US$4.3 million), the construction was initiated in January 2020.

The hoist has been in use since September after undergoing mandatory inspection.

Measuring 1.2 meters wide and nearly four meters long, the hoist is powered by an electric motor system and used to transport workers and materials up and down the building.

Police officers were still present at the construction site to carry out their investigation as of Sunday afternoon, according to the observation of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reporters.
